Demineralizers with ion exchange resins are water treatment systems used to remove ions in order to obtain water with a low salt content. Treatment is ensured by an ion exchange action in the filters containing the exchanging resins.
Demineralizers are used for the production of deionised water with less than 10 µS/cm starting from mains water, or for the closed-loop recycling of wash waters.
To obtain extra-pure water, filters with mixed bed resins capable of producing water with <0.5 µS/cm conductivity, are installed downstream.
Backwashing and regeneration of the filtering masses can be managed semi- or wholly automatically.
SAITA recycling demineralizers are used in the following sectors: surface treatment, galvanization, accessories and valuables, electronics and semi-conductors, industrial coating and washing systems.
The application of recycling demineralizers allows drastically reducing water consumption, improving the washing quality and eliminating spots (e.g. organic, calcareous or siliceous) that can form on the washed pieces. Decationizers consisting of a quartz sand or activated carbon filter or of a cation resin filter. The CK or QK Series decationizers are complete with a digital pH meter to check the quality of the output water, and controlled by hydropneumatic valves to wash and regenerate the resins. They are used to remove the cations (e.g. rinsing after alkaline degreasing) and continuously recycle process water.
