Water treatment plant for aluminium profiles anodizing

10/09/2019

SAITA has completed the installation of an innovative water treatment plant for the effluents produced by a new anodizing line for aluminum profiles. (see last references)

This chemical-physical plant was designed to be able to recycle part of the process water and comply with the discharge limits in particular with regard to sulphates (<600 mg / lt).

For this reason the Desulfate process (developed by SAITA since 2012) has been implemented, a process for the abatement of sulphates and heavy metals able to obtain purified water that can be reused in the production cycle.

The percentage of re-use of treated water is 75%. The final rinses of the anodizing line are recycled through a demineralizer with ion exchange resins in order to reduce the discharges into the sewer.

Sludge treatment and dehydration includes 2 automatic filter presses, one for the acid waste line and one for the alkaline waste line.

The whole plant is equipped with redundant devices and equipments to guarantee maximum reliability and minimize intervention by the operators.
